A good number of people find themselves unable to make a credible living in Mistwatch. Most would be unable to face the threats that lurk in the Everdusk, either to leave their home or seek their fortune. What is left for them? To be called a rogue often means to be insulted. It means to be underhanded, and often the implication is that the rogue could not have been successful if they were straightforward. A rogue would argue that “pragmatic” is a better term.
Rogues lead very varied lives, taking to both the city streets and the Everdusk alike. Thieves make use of their skills in order to live off the society that didn’t allow for them to live with it. Others make act less directly, operating as skilled professionals surviving in their home’s underworld by the sharpness of their cunning alone. Some takes these same skills into ruins of the old world, where they are put to use unlocking the doors and disarming the traps that separate them from their fortune. Other still find more immediate threats in their way, and are adept at delivering the first strike in the hope that there won’t be a need for a second.
